Process Name: w3wp

Process ID: 8828

Symptoms

Unexpected behavior such as target dashboards not showing up in the Drill down wizard or opening up the designer gives the message: “There was a network error communicating with the server”.

Cause

Insufficient memory for the application. An application or a process takes up a large chunk of the memory.

Check the task manager and see which process is taking up a lot of memory. Usually related to high memory usage by w3wp.exe process.

Resolution

Free some memory in the system to resolve the issue.
