Symptoms

When you login to Dundas Dashboard using your Windows Login and you get this error message: Invalid Windows login credentials.

Causes

  • You have logged on to the client machine as a local user and not as a Windows user.
  • The account running the application pool (typically NetworkService) is unable to query your Active Directory.

Resolution

  • Login as a Windows user on the client machine instead of a local user, if applicable.
  • Verify with your System Administrator that the account running the application pool is able to query your Active Directory. If you have users from different domains, then the account should be ale to query Active Directory on all domains.

  • Try this URL on the client browser: http://yourserver:port/WindowsAuthentication/, substituting your own Dashboard address. It will either throw an error or successfully generate a session, and send to Dundas Support at support@dundas.com. For example:
    Windows Authentication test using http://yourserver:port/WindowsAuthentication/.

    Windows Authentication test using http://yourserver:port/WindowsAuthentication/.
