Overview

The Ordering and Sorting tab in the KPI Designer lets you:

  • Change the column order of the measures and dimensions comprising your KPI. This order may be used when you preview the KPI, or display the KPI using a data control such as a data grid.
  • Specify a sorting rule to be applied to the values of a measure, calculated column, or dimension. For example, you can add a rule to sort Measure A values by ascending value and another rule to sort Dimension B values by descending value.

Changing the column order

Each row in the Column Order grid displays the information for a measure or dimension from your KPI. The order (i.e. Index) of the rows in the grid determines the column order of the measures and dimensions. To change the column order, select a grid row, and then use the four buttons above the top-right corner of the Column Order grid to move the selected row up or down in the order.

As an example, if you reorder the grid rows such that the row for the Product SKU dimension appears first, this will be reflected when you preview the data from your KPI:

Note: Changing the column order is not supported for OLAP/virtual cube-based KPIs.
