When trying to build a sample project downloaded from the Dundas support site, a message is displayed: "The referenced component 'Dundas.Dashboard.Plugins' could not be found." Where Dundas.Dashboard.Plugins could be any of the DLLs used by the Dundas Dashboard API.
The error message from above is displayed when trying to build the project in Visual Studio. Depending on your version of Visual Studio, in the references folder there might be a yellow warning triangle above the reference.
Visual Studio cannot find the DLLs in the location specified by the project.
- Remove the old missing reference from Visual Studio by right clicking on the reference and selecting "Remove".
- Add the reference by right clicking on references, selecting "Add Reference..." and browsing for the correct DLL in your Dundas Dashboard instance. The DLLs are in the SDK\lib\Client and SDK\lib\Server folders in the Dundas Dashboard instance directory. Please note that since there can be small changes to the API between revisions of Dundas Dashboard, please select the DLLs from the same version of Dundas Dashboard that you will be using the project on.
