Overview

In Dundas Dashboard 5 or later, you can enable a pager control and position it either at the top or at the bottom of a data grid.

Pager docked at the bottom of the data grid.

Note: The data grid performs paging after data retrieval, so no performance improvements will be observed by enabling paging.

Note: Total and sub-total values are not affected by enabling paging.

Using the data grid pager

Docking the pager

To show the data grid pager, you must dock it either to the Top or to the Bottom of the data grid by setting the Data Pager Dock Location property.

To hide the pager, set this property to None.

Setting the page size

The page size refers to the number of items to display per page. By default, the page size is set to 0 (zero), which means there will only be a single page showing all items.

Set the page size using the data grid's Data Pager property. Expand this property and set Page Size accordingly.

Numeric buttons

By default, the pager displays five numeric buttons (or page number buttons). Each numeric button lets you go directly to its corresponding page number.

You can control the number of numeric buttons to show at any one time by using the Data Pager's Numeric Button Count property.

Displaying an ellipsis

To display an ellipsis in place of the last numeric button, set the Data Pager's Auto Ellipsis property to True.

Setting the display mode

The Data Pager's Display Mode property lets you configure the First, Previous, Next, Last, and Numeric buttons. Different modes are available for showing various combinations of these buttons.

The available options are described here. The figure below shows a sample for each option.

Scripting

Page Index Changed

Use the data grid's Page Index Changed interaction to respond when the current page is changed.

For example, if you have two data grids with the same page size and you want their current pages to be kept in sync, do the following:

Add this script for DataGrid1's Page Index Changed interaction:

int page = DataGrid1.DataPager.PageIndex; if ( page != DataGrid2.DataPager.PageIndex ) { DataGrid2.DataPager.PageIndex = page; }

Add this script for DataGrid2's Page Index Changed interaction:

int page = DataGrid2.DataPager.PageIndex; if ( page != DataGrid1.DataPager.PageIndex ) { DataGrid1.DataPager.PageIndex = page; }

Test the resulting dashboard by using the pager for either data grid. When the page is changed in one grid, the other data grid changes to the exact same page.
