Getting Started

  • Q: Where can I find the Dundas Dashboard Product Documentation?
  • A: The documentation can be found here.

  • Q: Do I need to register to be able to download the Dundas Dashboard Installer?
  • A: Yes. You can register here.

  • Q: I have registered, but did not receive any validation email. What should I do next?
  • A: If you have higher than normal security settings on your email provider, please check your junk mailbox in case the validation email was re-directed. If there’s no validation email, contact us at support@dundas.com and we will validate it for you.

  • Q: Where can I find Interactive Dashboard samples?
  • A: You can find our Dashboard Gallery here.


For Dashboard Administrators


Installation & Upgrading


  • Q: Where can I download the latest version of Dundas Dashboard?
  • A: You can go to the download page and select the latest available version from the dropdown.


  • Q: Do I need a new license file to upgrade?
  • A: If you are upgrading to a new major version, for example, from V4.0.2 to V5.0.1, then yes, you need a V5 license file.
  • A: If you are upgrading to a new minor version, for example, from V5.0.0 to V5.0.1, then you do not need a new license file.

  • Q: Where can I get a new license file?
  • A: If your subscription is still valid, you can download from the Your Account page, under the Licenses tab. Please be aware that to be able to download the license file, your email address used logging into our support site needs to be in your company Contacts list at Dundas. If you have any questions, please send an email inquiry to your account manager at Dundas or contact support@dundas.com.

  • Q: How to install the Dundas Dashboard license file?
  • A: Refer to this article.

  • Q: Can I downgrade, or rollback to a previous version?
  • A: No. Instead of directly upgrading your instance of Dundas Dashboard, you can test the new version first on a Test environment. To do this, install an new instance of the version you need to upgrade to, and use the clone option to mirror your projects.

  • Q: During Installation, I am being asked for Installation Key and email. Where can I get these?
  • A: You can get the key from the Your Account page, under the Keys tab. You can also get this from the Download page, under Installation Keys. Please note that to be able to generate the Installation Key, you should be logged in to our Support Site.

Dashboard Creation Process

  • Q: If I create a dashboard using the trial/evaluation version, will I lose on the dashboard anything once I upgrade to a retail version?
  • A: No. The 45-day trial version comes with all the features and functionalities available on the retail version.


  • Q: I am getting the error "The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine." when creating Excel-based Data Connector?

  • Q: How can I track dashboard Usage?

  • Q: I am designing my dashboard for viewing in HTML. Are there any limitations I need to be aware of?
  • A: Yes, there are some limitations. Refer to this article for the latest list of limitations.

  • Q: How can I add paging on a DataGrid?
  • A: In Dundas Dashboard 5 or later, you can enable a pager control and position it either at the top or at the bottom of a data grid. Refer to this article for more information.

  • Q: Should I avoid using Stored Procedure-based Virtual Table?
  • A: Yes. If possible, avoid using Stored Procedures, as they make use of temporary tables during runtime, causing overhead. Possible alternatives are Regular tables, Views, or Table-valued Functions. You can find additional information here.

  • Q: How to add a calculated or custom column?
  • A: Refer to the article on adding custom columns.

  • Q: How to filter data based on the user that is logged-on to Dundas Dashboard?
  • A: You can use SSAS Roles for Anaylsis Services Data Source.
