Go to the Dundas Dashboard Add-ons page for instructions on downloading and installing this add-on.

Overview

The PDF Export Add-On allows you to export an image of your Dashboard (either entirely or selected controls) to an Adobe PDF document. The entire dashboard can be exported into a single PDF page or to individual pages if multiple controls are selected.

General Usage

To export your Dashboard using the PDF Export Add-On, click on the Export icon from Dashboard's main toolbar. When the Export dialog pops up, select the Export entire Dashboard or Select individual controls option and then click Finish. If you want to customize the output of your PDF file, click the Advanced... button to open up the Advanced Options dialog.

Advanced Options

When the Advanced... button is clicked from within the main Export dialog, the Advanced Options dialog will pop up, showing several options that will allow you customize the output of your PDF document.

Auto-size page to fit content

When this field is checked, the page will be sized based on the Dashboard/control image size plus the page margins.

Center the image on the page

When this field is checked, the Dashboard image will be centered on the page.

Note: This feature is ignored when Auto-size page to fit content is checked.

Orientation

This field lets you choose the orientation of the page.

Note: This feature is ignored when Auto-size page to fit content is checked.

Page size

These fields let you choose the size of the page (in inches). If the image size is too large to fit on the page, the image will be resized to fit within the page (unless Auto-size page to fit content is checked).

Margins

These fields let you set the margins on the four sides of a page (in inches).

Additional Resources

In order to view PDF documents, you will need to download and install Adobe Reader.

Troubleshooting

A common issue after installation of the add-on is that the PDF Export option does not show up in the Export dialog.

To resolve this, close your browser that has &dw; running.

Next, open up a command line window and perform an iisreset.

Once the iisreset operation completes, open up your browser and reconnect to &dw;.
