Overview

This article shows how to edit an existing data connector in &dw;, test the resulting connection to a database, and discover the definitions of physical data structures present in the database. You may need to edit a data connector when the connection information for the associated data source has changed.

Editing a data connector from the Design Explorer

To edit an existing data connector from the Design Explorer:

  1. Select your data connector in the Design Explorer, then click its menu button. The Data Connector menu is displayed.

  2. From the Data Connector menu, choose Edit. The Data Connector Designer is displayed in the content area of the application.
  3. Follow the steps from the article, Creating a Data Connector, in order to update the information for your data connector, retest its connection to your data source, and rediscover physical data structures present within the data source.
