Overview

This article shows how to test a connection to a data source by using an existing data connector in &dw;. You can perform this test as a quick means of verifying that your data connector has been configured with the correct connection information, such as user credentials.

Testing a data connection from the Design Explorer

To test a data connection from the Design Explorer:

  1. Select your data connector in the Design Explorer, then click its menu button. The Data Connector menu is displayed.

  2. From the Data Connector menu, choose Test Connection. A dialog box indicating the result of the test is displayed.

Testing a data connection from the Data Connector Designer

To test a data connection from the Data Connector Designer:

  1. Select your data connector in the Design Explorer, then click its menu button. The Data Connector menu is displayed.
  2. From the Data Connector menu, choose Edit. The Data Connector Designer is displayed.
  3. Click Test Connection from the Dundas Dashboard Toolbar.
