Overview

This article shows how to edit an existing dataset in &dw;. You may want to edit a dataset in order to redefine its columns, update sorting rules, or change general settings.

Editing a dataset

To edit an existing dataset from the Design Explorer:

  1. Select your dataset in the Design Explorer, then click its menu button. The Dataset menu is displayed.

  2. From the Dataset menu, choose Edit. The Dataset Designer is displayed in the content area of the application.
  3. Click the Check Out button (if available) in the Dundas Dashboard Toolbar to begin editing the dataset.

  4. Reconfigure your dataset as required by following the steps from the article, Creating a Dataset.

You have edited an existing dataset and previewed its data as a means of verifying your changes.
