Button Navigation

Overview

This sample illustrates how you can use buttons to navigate between dashboards. The tab like functionality in sample project, Sonatica, can be achieved by placing buttons on the dashboard and using scripts to move to one dashboard to another.You can also pass parameters from one dashboard to the other.

Steps

  1. If you have three dashboards you want to navigate to, create three buttons on each dashboard.
  2. On the button that references the current dashboard should be greyed out. You can change the background, font brush, and border brush to get the greyed-out look.
  3. For the other buttons, have the target dashboard GUID ready. For more information on how to do this: http://support.dundas.com/Dashboard25.DashboardGUID.ashx
  4. On the click interactions of the button, add the script

For straight drill down without parameters:
services.NavigateToDashboard("Dashboards GUID");

With Parameters:
ParameterInfoCollection params = new ParameterInfoCollection();
    ParameterInfo param;
    param = new ParameterInfo();
    //target parameter
    param.ParameterName = "Parameter1";
    param.GrainLevel = e.GrainLevel;
    param.FilterValues = Parameter1.FilterValues;
    params.Add(param);
    services.NavigateToDashboard("GUID", params);
