Editing a Virtual Table

This article shows how to edit an existing virtual table in &dw;. You may want to edit a virtual table in order to add more data structures, redefine data columns, or change the corresponding SQL statement.

Editing a virtual table

To edit an existing virtual table from the Design Explorer:

  1. Select your virtual table in the Design Explorer, then click its menu button. The Virtual Table menu is displayed.

  2. From the Virtual Table menu, choose Edit. The Virtual Table Designer is displayed.
  3. Click the Check Out button (if available) in the Dundas Dashboard Toolbar.

  4. Update your virtual table based on its type:
  5. Click Save in the Dundas Dashboard Toolbar to save your changes.
    The Save button.
  6. Click Check In from the Dundas Dashboard Toolbar.
    The Check In button.
    Optionally enter a comment in the Check In dialog, then click Check in.

You have edited an existing virtual table, previewed its data using the Virtual Table Designer, and made the changes accessible to other users.
